Description
A dreamy, gluten-free iced strawberry matcha latte that’s fruity, earthy, creamy—and completely customizable for your dietary needs. The perfect café-style refreshment without leaving home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1–2 tsp matcha powder (ceremonial or culinary grade)
- 1 cup milk of choice (oat, almond, dairy, etc.)
- 1–2 tsp sweetener (maple syrup, honey, sugar, or agave; optional)
- 2–3 tbsp hot water
- Ice cubes
- Optional: 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: 1/2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, cook strawberries with a splash of water and sweetener over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until soft and syrupy. Mash or blend to a pourable consistency.
- Sift matcha into a bowl. Add hot water (not boiling) and whisk in a zig-zag motion until smooth and frothy.
- Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in the strawberry sauce, then slowly pour milk over the back of a spoon. Top with whisked matcha, pouring gently to maintain layers.
- Stir if desired, or sip through the layers. Enjoy chilled!
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Always sift your matcha to avoid clumps. Pour slowly to get those beautiful pink and green layers.
